Main characteristics
  • 9 group variety
  • Open crown plants with high number of stems per crown
  • Semi erect stems with high leaf to stem ratio
  • High protein content and high digestibility rate
  • Excellent seedling vigor
  • Insect and disease tolerances provide healthy and vigorous plants

Blue Ace was bred for many years out of selected populations from USA and Australia and selecting for quality and yield characteristics.

Blue Ace is a 9 group variety, providing for high yields. Seedling vigor is excellent and the development of plants is strong.

Plants are tall with relatively open crowns with semi-erect stems. The open crowns produce an increased number of stems per crown, while they provide tolerance to disease infestation. At the same time the increased number of stems and the high leaf to stem ratio provide for a high yield of high quality forage.

Blue Ace plants are highly resistant to Blue Aphid and Spotted Aphid and resistant to Pea Aphid. They are also resistant to Fusarium, Phytophthora and Anthracnose. All above ensure that Blue Ace plants will remain healthy and strong providing a high yield during the year under a different type of environments.

As a conclusion Blue Ace will produce a high yield of high quality forage all through the year and provide for a high income.
